Event description
By popular demand the epic Hadrian's Wall Challenge (13 miler) is back for a second time in April 2021.

About this Event

Hadrian's Wall is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the biggest Roman artefact in the world! This Hadrian's Wall Challenge visits some of the best parts of the Wall including the famous Sycamore Gap.

If you've always wanted to walk the Wall, then this is the challenge for you!

With your challenge guide you set off from the village of Wall and visit:

• Brocolitia Roman Fort and Mithraic Temple

• Housesteads

• Crag Lough and Sycamore Gap

• The Sill: Landscape Discovery Centre

Due to demand there are two return transport options :

BUS1 - return transport to Wall Village straight after the walk.

BUS2 - return transport to Wall Village 1 hour after finish - giving you time to look around The Sill or visit the Twice Brewed Inn.

Event cost:

£20 per person (excludes Eventbrite booking fee).

An info pack, email updates, and details about kit etc. will be sent in the build up to the challenge.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is public parking in the village of Wall, including public toilets. At the end of the walk (The Sill) there will be a minibus back to the start - two return transport options to choose. There is also a support vehicle during the day for emergencies only.

What's included in the price?

Pre-event support and information. Experienced guide for the day with lots of information about the places we visit. Return transport back to the village of Wall.

What's the refund policy?

There is a 14 day period* following your booking date where we will accept cancellations and refunds. After the 14 days there are strictly no refunds. In the event that you can no longer attend the walk we will make those on the waiting list aware and you can then sell/transfer your place to that person.

* excludes tickets rebooked from 2020 Covid events.

We will not refund and resell on your behalf.

Are dogs allowed?

Unfortunately dogs are not allowed on this event.

Is there a minimum age limit?

Children (under 16) are welcome on the walk but must be accompanied by a paying adult. There is no child discount available. Any adult accompanying an under 16 is wholly responsible for the child with them.

How easy is the walk?

This is a challenging walk. The distance is 13 miles and in some sections involves steep, stepped terrain. This is not recommended as a beginners walk and do not underestimate the physicality of the route.

What happens in the event of bad weather?

The walk will go ahead in poor weather . In the event of severe weather the event may be cancelled and rescheduled for another date. No refunds will be provided in the event of cancellation of the walk due to severe weather.
