Join us 12–14 Sept 2025 at Hafren Forest Hideaway in the Cambrian Mountains for an unforgettable women’s weekend. Enjoy paddle sports on Llyn Clywedog, scenic walks, e-biking through Hafren Forest, cosy evenings by the campfire, and delicious home-cooked meals.

YOUR BASE
Staylittle is a gorgeous hidden gem in the Cambrian Mountains, an area of astounding natural beauty. There is plenty to do outdoors, walking, cycling, paddle sports. fishing, to name a few! Glyndwr's Way, and the National cycle route NCR-8 pass through here. Despite the utter beauty it beholds, as a tourism area it is less well known than areas in North and South Wales.
Hafren Forest Hideaway is a unique accommodation, with comfortable rooms and a very homely feel. The lounge offers gorgeous views, and a lovely wood burner for the colder nights. Sarah and Darren are excellent hosts and ensure you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. You are treated to a hearty cooked breakfast, lunch and evening meal so you don't need to worry about finding somewhere to eat. The dining room seats 14, a great place to sit and share stories!
There are 4 bedrooms sleeping up to 13 people; 2 with 2 x single beds, 1 with 2 x single beds plus a bunk bed, and the largest room has 3 x single beds plus 1 x bunk bed. It is so well thought out, each bed has a USB charging point, a touch light and a box under the bed to neatly store your belongings. The bathrooms are shared as you would expect in group accommodation, and there are 6 electric showers. Each bedroom is allocated a shower/showers and there are 5 toilets, which can be split into male/female.

ITINERARY
Please note: As Sarah and Darren are your hosts and live in a separate area of the Hideaway, timings below are approximate, and are flexible to suit the group.
Day 1:
4.30pm - 6.30pm: Arrive at the Hideaway, settle in.
6.30pm-7.30pm: Join Sarah and the rest of the group for a delicious home cooked meal.
7.30pm onwards: Campfire (weather dependant)
Meet around the campfire, perhaps play some games, chat about tomorrow's walk and take advantage of Sarah and Darren's knowledge about the area. On a clear night it is a splendid place to stargaze - being rural there are wonderfully dark skies.
Day 2:
8am - 9am: Breakfast
Sarah will prepare a delicious cooked breakfast, using locally sourced produce. She is experienced at catering to various dietary requirements.
9.30am - 12pm: Paddle sports on Llyn Clywedog
Make your way to Llyn Clywedog sailing and Paddle Sports Club (just a 10 min drive from the Hideaway).
You have the option of kayaking, canoeing or paddle boarding. Your instructor will teach you the basics of whichever activity you choose.
1pm - 2pm: Lunch and relax
Sarah will prepare a warm lunch for you for when you're back at the Hideaway.
2pm - 6pm: Self Guided walk / Free time
Time to explore this amazing area on foot! Join the group for a self guided walk. We will provide walk suggestions and directions/maps.
If you'd rather sit the walk out, the Hideaway is a lovely place to relax, or a 30 min drive away is Machynlleth, a charming town with independent cafes/shops and a distinct creative and sustainable vibe.
6pm-7pm: Dinner
Join Sarah, Darren and the rest of the group for a delicious home cooked meal.
7pm onwards: Campfire (weather dependant)
Another opportunity to enjoy an evening around the campfire. .
Day 3:
8am - 9am: Breakfast
Sarah will prepare a cooked breakfast.
9.30am - 12.30pm: Self guided ride through Hafren Forest with hired e-bikes.
Your e-bikes will be dropped at the Hideaway in the morning, for you to enjoy at your leisure. Helmets and self guided routes are provided. We encourage you to ride with the group and enjoy the beautiful forest together, sticking with easy, non technical routes. But you are welcome to do ride alone if you are an experienced mountain biker and prefer to cover more distance.
Important bits to note:
- You can just pay the £50 deposit for now, to do this, first complete the booking form (1 form is required per person). We will then send you an invoice for the deposit.
- Full payment is due 6 weeks before the start date.
- All travellers must complete a booking form, and confirm you have read and understood the booking conditions

This weekend is for women of all ages who love the outdoors, want to try something new, or simply need a refreshing escape in nature. Come solo or bring a friend—our group is friendly, inclusive, and perfect for all fitness levels.

Hafren Forest Hideaway is easy to reach by car and just 30 mins from Machynlleth. The nearest train stations are Caersws or Machynlleth, both a 30 min drive from the Hideaway. We will do our bets to be able to collect you and return you to the station, or recommend a taxi company.
Rooms are generally for shared use, be it with friends or with a new friend. It is part of the experience with this holiday, but if you have concerns, you could have your own room subject to availability and a sole occupancy fee.
