About this Event

Half Term Activities

We’re delighted to announce that our popular holiday family science activities are starting again this October half term for children aged 5–11 and their families. We’ll be offering a range of hands-on experiments and making activities focusing on chemistry and the amazing Molecular Science Research Hub in White City!

Amazing Dyes

Explore the science of colour at the Invention Rooms this half term in this brand new workshop with Richard Kong and Tom Clough. Most of the colour we see around us is caused by molecules absorbing light! This means if we want new colours we have to ask a chemist! Join our amazing researchers and discover how scientists can use chemistry to make new dyes to colour everything from dye to paint to clothes. You’ll also be able to try your own chemical dyes by making your own t-shirt which you can take home!

This is a free workshop for families that allows you to explore chemistry together in a fun and creative way.

If changes in circumstances mean that face to face is impossible to run, we will run online sessions.

This activity is open to residents living North of LBHF and North Kensington.

There will be a demonstration at the start of the workshop, so it is important that you arrive on time for your session.

These sessions will be run in a socially distanced way. You only need to book one ticket for your entire group which can contain up to six people.
