Join us for a festive pre-Christmas event featuring John Patchett, local historian and author of Halifax in Georgian and Victorian Times.
John will share fascinating insights into Halifax’s past, using images and slides. He’ll also take part in a Q&A and will be signing copies of his new book, which will be available to buy on the day — perfect for a thoughtful Christmas gift!
🫖 Festive refreshments — tea, coffee, homemade mince pies and more — will be available for a small charge or donation. We’re hoping to offer a warming hot punch too (subject to licensing advice).
🎅 With the help of Halifax Civic Trust volunteers, this promises to be a warm and welcoming event celebrating local history and seasonal cheer.
We ask that you bring cash to make a donation or purchase Johns book or cheques.
Spaces may go fast — and while the room holds around 80, we recommend booking early just in case!
Doors open at 13.30 with the event starting at 14.00.
Please note that there will be a recording of Johns talk which may be used on a future podcast by HCT.
Organised by Halifax Civic Trust volunteers. All donations support the ongoing work of our volunteers promoting and protecting Halifax’s heritage.
