Hall Green: A divided neighbourhood?
Thu 23 March 2017, 18:00 – 20:30 GMT
Hall Green can be a lovely place to live, with people from different backgrounds getting along well with each other. But is it also an area where separate communities tend to live separate lives?
Some have said that people living on opposite sides of the Stratford Road may as well be worlds apart. Could this lead to fear and mistrust between those different communities? Does it lead to different life opportunities for those involved?
This event will create a safe and friendly environment to explore these issues further. Participants will be invited to discuss whether a lack of interaction between communities matters, and - if so - whose responsibility it is to improve how we get on with each other. Is greater integration something best left to community organisations, churches, and mosques? Or is there something we could all day on a day-to-day basis that could improve community relations too?
This is a free event open to anyone who lives, works, or visits Hall Green on a regular basis.
Food will available from 6pm and we’ll aim to start the discussion at 6.30pm.
