Add Korean Style to Your Halloween

Every Halloween, you might wonder: What costume will make me stand out this year? Should I go for the generic options everyone else is wearing, or is there a crafty way to create something truly unique?

This year, why not create a one-of-a-kind spooky mask with us? But what exactly are these masks? If you've ever watched a K-drama or K-movie, you may have seen them before…

Korean Tal Masks

Korean tal masks are perfect for Halloween! Traditionally worn during rituals and festivals, these masks were believed to ward off evil spirits and even perform exorcisms. With their eerie and striking designs, they’re sure to give your Halloween a distinctive touch.

Each tal mask represents different characters, symbolizing various social classes and personalities. Whether you choose a ghost, a shaman, or a mischievous character, you'll learn about the rich history behind these masks and share your newfound knowledge with your Halloween party guests.

What to Expect:

We are teachers, so this is more than a mask-painting workshop – it's an experience for your head, hands, and heart!

We’ll start by diving into the fascinating world of Korean culture, sampling delicious Korean treats, and sipping on seasonal makgeolli (Korean rice wine). Then, we’ll sit down to choose your paper-mâché mask and start decorating it to match your selected character. At the end, you could even dress on Korean hanbuk to complete the look.

Come celebrate with us — and leave with more than just a souvenir: you'll take home a story, a memorable experience, and a deeper connection to Korean tradition.
