Join us in the woods at Northumberlandia for family-friendly nature activities that you know and love, but this time with a Halloween twist!
Den Building - whether with ropes, tarps or simply sticks build your own monster hideout. Then see how well it holds up to a witch's storm!
Halloween Crafts - get creative as we make spook-tacular nature talismans perfect for warding off ghosts alongside other Halloween themed crafts.
Peatland Folklore - Step into the mysterious world of the bog! Explore spooky myths and legends, uncover why peatlands are so important for nature and climate, and hear tales of the strange creatures said to roam these wild places. You will also design your very own bog beast and make up a story all about its powers and purpose. This workshop has limited places so please book a ticket in advance.
Bugs and Beasties - track down the creepy crawly creatures that lurk in the woods during Autumn as the Natural History Society of Northumbria once again lead minibeast hunts at Northumberlandia.
Halloween costumes are encouraged but please still dress appropriately for the weather and the woodlands may be muddy underfoot.
Whilst this is a drop-in event, please register so we get an idea of numbers.
Recommended for ages 4+, children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Part of our Championing Nature Project, a new programme aimed at creating positive, lasting impact in urban communities through greater connections and engagement with nature. Made possible by Wimbledon and Emirates partnership.
