About this event

Holiday • Halloween

Celebrate Halloween/Samhain with Wild South London in Beckenham Place Park at this community event.

We’ll take a short walk around the park, stopping at different trees, where we’ll hear spooky folklore tales about oak trees, hedgehogs, robins, wrens and more.

This event is suitable for those aged 12+ but if you have younger children, why not bring them along earlier in the day for wildlife mask-making and our Trick or Tree Trail?

Where to meet:

Meet your hosts outside Beckenham Place Mansion at 3:45pm. What3Words ///beam.charge.palm

Please arrive on time, by 3:45 at the latest - we want to be walking as the sun sets, not in pitch black darkness (though your hosts will bring torches!)

Note:

Our events are free to ensure they remain accessible to everyone in the community. but organising them does come with costs. If you'd like to support our work, you can join us as a member for just £10 a year, or donate any amount here. Thank you.

If you can no longer attend this event, please cancel your ticket! We understand that plans change, but failing to show up without prior notice may mean someone else misses out.

About Wild South London:

Wild South London is a community group which aims to raise awareness of local biodiversity and promote conservation and appreciation of nature. Through walks, talks and hands-on workshops, the group will educate and inspire local people on topics such as sustainable foraging and identification of plants, animals and fungi. They will also show people how to record finds to contribute to local biodiversity data - all while promoting the positive health and wellbeing impacts of engaging with nature.

Please note that we will not be eating or foraging for anything on this walk but may point out species we have some knowledge of as foragers.
