Event description

Description

This is a children’s musical workshop (afternoon) followed by an early evening performance with the international musician, Francois le Roux, aka the Ha!Man. The workshop is being held in Wendens Ambo for children from the Saffron Walden area on Saturday 23rd March, in the afternoon and evening.

The workshop is open to children 5 years and up. All musical abilities welcome.

Francois will work with all the children to develop a musical piece to perform for friends and family later at 6pm. This is an active afternoon exploring creativity through music and giving children the opportunity to work in a group to create music for a show. The children will then have the chance to perform in Wendens Ambo church. The show will also include Francois’ own music and will be enhanced with sound effects and visual projection.

Francois le Roux, aka the Ha!Man, has an extensive musical background including formal classical training. Francois, from South Africa, travels the world visiting schools and art centres working with children to capture the excitement of music and performance. His main instrument is the cello but Francois is also a talented performer of keyboard, voice, dance and visual artforms. An international career spanning two decades keeps him constantly generating new fusions, collaborations and stage antics in venues ranging from farm barns to the Royal Albert Hall.

This year marks his third visit to Wendens Ambo and we are delighted to welcome him back.
