About this event

Spirituality • Other

Quakers are pretty unknown to many peoplle. Some people are surpsied to find they still exists. We do still exist and are working to change the world.

Qakers are joined together by their belief in the inner light or spirit of God. This belief leads to a stong belief in the equality of all people, There are no priests or clery, no services or liturgy.

Quakers sit in silent worship and emphasise living out their faith through the way they live their life, not just talking about things.

This means they ar famous as social reformers and often disagree with recognised orthodoxy,.

The expression 'speak truth to power i s credited to Bayard Rustin, a black Quaker and Civil Rights Leadeer back in 1942
