In May 2014, the Hampshire Solent Museum Development Programme supported the creation of five Peer Development Groups:
- Collections care
- Emergency preparedness
- Audience development
- Display and interpretation
The five topics were identified through consultation with museums at the February 2014 Open Forum.
Each Peer Development Group is made up of museum people who have a common interest and want to work together to learn more about it. The groups have used a variety of methods to progress their learning in their area of focus, including study visits, peer coaching, jointly organising training and buying textbooks.
At this event, members of each Peer Development Group will share their learning, achievements and future plans with the other groups plus guests from other museums.
Together, we will review the programme, to identify what worked and what we might do differently to make peer learning programmes successful.
The event will conclude with a networking lunch.
Who can take part?
Members of staff, Trustees and volunteers in Hampshire Solent museums. Priority is for members of the five Peer Development Groups, with a number of places for guests from other museums so that they can also share in the learning from the programme.
If you have not been a member of one of the Peer Development Groups during the programme, please select Ticket Type: 'Guest.'
