Successfully create objects of use such as candlesticks and bowls, or get experimental with a sculpture. In this one day workshop you will be introduced to clay as a material and the various techniques you can employ to manipulate it to match your vision.
The workshop will be taught by Ceramicist Jessica Tremaine. With 8 years in the art form and 3 years of teaching experience, you will be in safe hands. Equal amounts of guidance and freedom will be offered to you on the day. Tea and coffee will be provided.
Over this 1-day workshop we will cover:
- Slab building - An impactful way to build structure quickly.
- Coiling - A classic hand-building technique to create work that allows the makers aesthetic to shine through.
- Decorative techniques - Examples of applied designs will be shown should you wish to apply them to your artworks.
🍷🫒 At 4pm there will be a social where you can shop the carefully selected homeware and clothing in the Meadows Studios store. We will have a bar where you can purchase natural wine and delicious snacks. 🫒🍷
This course is suitable for those with little to no experience in ceramics and those who are looking for space to develop their skills.
