Event description

Description

Come and enjoy a 1 day specialist hand embroidery workshop with Sara Dennis, our Royal School of Needlework trained tutor. We will sew a silver tup using goldwork techniques on boiled wool. The course will cover the basics of goldwork technique, working with Japanese thread, purl, chipping and kid. It will be taught hands on, demonstration and instruction. At the end of the session you will be familiar with the application of working with metalic thread whilst creating a stylish cherry stone heat pad.

All levels of stitchers are welcome and the kit comes with everything you need to finish a cherry stone hottie.

ABOUT SARA

After a career in nursing and the forces, Sara gained a first class degree in Art History and Museum Studies from Lancaster University, where she won an Alumni Art Prize. She graduated from the three year full-time Royal School of Needlework Future Tutor Programme in 2017 winning the Outstanding Achievement Award.
