Following its premiere in Dublin in 1742, Messiah quickly became one of Handel’s most popular pieces of music and has been performed around the globe every year since 1945.
This year, Lincoln Cathedral Choir return to perform Handel’s Messiah, a spectacular piece of music, in our iconic venue
Although Messiah features one of the most famous pieces of choral music, the Hallelujah Chorus, this iconic oratorio has so much more to offer . Messiah differs from most of Handel's oratorio in the fact that it is made up of striking solo arias, interspersed with captivating chorus numbers . The work combines these to tell the story of Jesus’ birth, life, death and victorious resurrection.
Soloists to be confirmed.
Handel’s Messiah will be sold with allocated seating. Seats will be allocated from the front of each section to ensure the best available seat at time of purchase. We advise that all guests book early to avoid disappointment.
