About this session

This session is light-hearted, practical in nature and fun.

Paul explores and demonstrates ways in which to make maths more practical using a range of concrete apparatus.

Using concrete apparatus gives young people a visual and taactile way of exploring maths and making it easier to process and retain.

The session is aimed at all young people who experience difficulties with the basic building blocks of maths and good foundations.

Suitable for:

Teachers, SENCOs/ALNCos, LSAs and Mathematics Subject Leaders

Also included:

· Certificate of Attendance

Session Leader - Paul Hargreaves

Paul is an accredited trainer with over 15 years experience supporting leadership teams and curriculum development, in particular Mathematics.

Having worked in schools in London and Essex, Paul was then Lead Area Consultant for Essex Local Authority, managing and deploying a team of consultants working with schools. He has also been an Education Adviser for a commercial provider of professional development and school support services. Paul currently works as an independent education consultant supporting schools, academies, MATs and independent schools.
