Hands on the Past: Archaeological Detectives: Crafts of the Ancestors
A series of 6 Saturday morning 'Hands on the Past' workshops for Children aged 7-13. (spread over 8 weeks, excluding Dec. 24th & 31st).
Sessions may be booked individually or for the whole series. Holders of KCU Passports will receive 3 stamps per workshop attended.
Participants will learn about what archaeological finds are made of, how they were made and how archaeologists find, study and preserve them. Activities may include mummy making, bead and brooch making, metal casting, writing through time, pot making, mosaic making, painting with ancient pigments, woodworking, conservation, using microscopes, and games through history. Crafts they have made can be taken home at the end of the series - after a final exhibition for family and friends on Jan 28th.
