The Syrian Supper Club’s appetite is growing, and we need you to feed it...
On the evening of Thursday 25th April we will be creating a Syrian spectacular. There will be an auction, with lots to bid for beyond your wildest dreams, including Syrian art, exotic holidays, seats at the most sought after restaurant tables and a host of other wonderful things. There will be Speakers doing what they do best, there will be Special Cocktails and there will be Syrian food ready for the taking. We aim to raise £30,000 and we can’t do it without your help.
It is no secret that the crisis in Syria gets worse by the day. People are hungry, people are homeless and people are dying, no matter which side or where on the fence they sit. The route for aid into Syria is not an easy one, while the need for it is desperate.
We are raising money in support of a range of aid organizations working on the ground in Syria (no easy task) and amongst others, we will be supporting two projects run by UK registered Charity Syria Relief (http://www.syriarelief.org.uk/);
1. providing bread for families living without the means to feed themselves
2. funding the salaries of a team of seven medical staff in a field hospital in northern Syria

On Thursday 25th April the finest fundraising event of 2013 will be held in London. Hands Up For Syria will be a chance to bring a little bit of Syria to those of you who know it and some who don’t.
We are asking you to put your hand up for Syria and support a wonderful cause. Please come, we would love to see you there.

The Hands Up Foundation
The Hands Up Foundation
The Hands Up Foundation is a registered UK charity (reg no. 1156491) supporting humanitarian relief efforts responding to the crisis in Syria and on its borders. We provide a trusted route into Syria for funds raised and, crucially, their allocation can be monitored. With our partner organisations working on the ground and with careful consideration and research, we identify projects that we believe will have the maximum impact for those in need. Then we make sure that the necessary funds are raised to implement these projects.
Fundraising is a key piece to our jigsaw and we do this through a range of initiatives from the bold to the barmy. In particular we run the Syrian Supper Club (which in fact is where we began back in July 2012); the idea is that through food, a little entertainment and reminding people of some of the very good things that Syria has and knows, help can be sent to those who need it. Syrian Suppers now take place all over the world, from Wales to Singapore, and we still hold the original monthly Syrian Supper in London, UK.
We also hold other events throughout the year; we take inspiration from Syrian culture and introduce this to a new audience while raising monies. These can take the form of auctions, exhibitions, festivals, picnics, hoolies - anything really that grabs attention and raises awareness. Hummus, cocktails and music are often involved.
To date we have raised over £100,000.

The Hands Up Foundation was founded by four friends in April 2014 and has a growing number of wise trustees.
