What is National Open Art?

Over the past 21 years, National Open Art (NOA) has established itself as the leading independent open art prize. The 21st National Open Art Exhibition will showcasing a diverse cross-section of the brightest British and Irish contemporary art, photography and film of 2017. Selected by this year's panel of judges the works are to be exhibited at Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf - a vast, untouched four-storey industrial building on London's Southbank.

The free ten-day NOA exhibition is one of several artistic spectacles taking place over this period and will be situated alongside:

# Groundbreaking new artwork from the winners and shortlisted entrants of NOA's 21st National Open Art Competition - a true reflection of the UK and Ireland's top artistic talent - exhibited across nine main gallery spaces at Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf.

# Works by Damien Hirst, Yinka Shonibare MBE, Cornelia Parker, Gavin Turk and Sir Peter Blake and 14 other internationally acclaimed artists in the Turkish Tulips Exhibition Portfolio. Housed in the Tulip Gallery and curated by Young British Artist and NOA Vice-President Gavin Turk, this is a spectacle not to be missed.

# Artists Deborah Curtis and Gavin Turk's The House of Fairytales - a one-of-a-kind immersive experience for children and adults. They'll be screening their award-winning documentary feature film, Most Likely to Succeed, about the growing shortcomings of conventional education methods on Saturday 25th November. And throughout Sunday 26th, children will be able to make their own film for the House of Fairytales cinema - just drop in to enjoy this unique creative experience.

# Also collaborating with NOA is Hyphen, an architecture practice that has delivered projects for many of the best recognised brands in over 50 countries worldwide. Hyphen has designed a temporary installation for the reception space of the exhibition, in Gallery 1 on the ground floor.

# A series of professional development workshops for creatives and collectors hosted by Susan Mumford founder of Be Smart About Art and the Association of Women Art Dealers (AWAD).

# Explore Learning's drop-in and drop-off creative writing workshops, where children will be invited to design what they think the world will be like in the year 3017. Taking place throughout the day on Saturday 25th and Saturday 25th November, the workshops will offer invaluable creative educational experiences for children. No need to book - just come along and join in the time travel extravaganza!

# For the adult art lovers among you, our free Bloody Mary closing party on Sunday 26th could be the perfect hangover cure, as well as your last chance to view and buy artwork at the exhibition.

With all this plus five artists in residence in the Open Art Studio, a participatory installation and more attractions to be announced, this is sure to be one of the highlights of the year's art events calendar.

Entry to the exhibition is free, so come and enjoy a wonderful array of creative and artistic inspiration from the 17th to 26th November at the Bargehouse in London's Oxo Tower.
