Today's Hanover Square Lunchtime Concert is given by Yiwei Deng who will be performing the following programme:

Haydn - Piano Sonata in B minor Hob. XVI:32
Beethoven - Piano Sonata No. 21 in C major Op. 53 ‘Waldstein’

As always admission is free with a retiring collection

Yiwei Deng is a collaborative pianist currently pursuing an Artist Diploma in Collaborative Piano at the Royal College of Music in London, where she studies with Simon Lepper and Roger Vignoles. She holds a Guildhall Artist Master’s in Piano Accompaniment from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she graduated with First-Class Honours, supported by the Guildhall Trust Fund. Yiwei also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Musicology from the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, where she studied piano performance under Professor Ma Shaokang and later focused on collaborative piano with Professor Huang Mengmeng, the Head of the Collaborative Piano Department at CCOM.

During her time in Beijing, Yiwei actively collaborated in concerts and worked with Wang Siyi, a cellist from the China Philharmonic Orchestra. As a composer, her bassoon composition won the Giuseppe Raciti Memorial Award.

Currently, Yiwei is expanding her collaborative performance repertoire and gaining invaluable experience through ongoing studies and performances in the UK. Her future engagements will include performances and collaborations across various genres, further developing her artistry and broadening her experience as a sought-after collaborative pianist.
