Tai Chi and Qigong with Mags

Have you ever tried Tai Chi & Qigong?

If you have, you will know how amazing it can make you feel. The slow fluid movements and combined breathing can feel like a soothing yet energising tonic to your body, mind and spirit.

Tai Chi and Qigong is often described as moving meditation. It is usually slow flowing movements which stretch and tone the whole body, engages the mind, and calms your whole being. It incorporates the breath and reminds us to be present.

It is great for beginners. All you need is yourself, comfortable clothing and flat shoes. Movements are all done from a standing position – although you can be seated if you have difficulty standing for long periods.

Benefits of Tai Chi & Qigong

Tai chi and qigong has many benefits, including:

• Helps with circulation, balance and alignment of the body• Helps to move, stretch, tone and increase flexibility in the body• Helps you to move your muscles, tendons, joints and ligaments

Followed by refreshments and discussion

Session 3 : Nov 21st

Exploring with clay with Steffie

We will be working with clay, which is easy to manipulate and immediately responsive, using both hands to explore and mould. After a warm up activity we will make a form that we enjoying touching/holding and then another form to reflect an aspect of our lives going forward.

There will be time to reflect on the process. All activities will be guided by Steffie, an experienced workshop facilitator, therapeutic arts practitioner and outdoor therapist.'

Session 4. : Nov 28th

Singing meditation with Grainne

This form of singing meditation is loosely based on the Taizé tradition. Using simple, repetitive chants helps us to quieten our minds, forget the outside world and focus on the beautiful words of the chants. Chants are interspersed with short times of silence which can foster a sense of peace. Before beginning the meditative practice, I will spend some time teaching you the chants so that you can get the most out of the practice.
