Event description

Description

Research shows that our hunger for the natural world still endures despite our technology habits and urban lifestyles. In fact, a greater connection with nature could be the ultimate salve for our growing unhappiness as a society. Those same connections could also heal the planet.

We are all looking for happiness and never have we been more disconnected from nature. We are part of nature so it is not surprising we feel a disjunct or emptiness that we increasingly try to reconcile with the hollow promises of consumerism. This retreat day is about taking your seat within and as part of nature. It is aimed finding a way to reconnect daily as an internal component of nature's complex, beautiful and soul inspiring web of life.

10am- Open the chakras with colours in nature with Katherine Beaumont
Whether you affiliate with the process of opening and rebalancing your body’s seven energy centres or enjoy them as a metaphor for emotional rebalance and wholesome intention, you will love this beautiful guided meditation. Lie in the grass and let nature wash over you and learn how to use it as a resource for comfort and reflection.

11am - Natural food workshop bushcraft lunch with Suzee Tylee
Conscious thinking and nutrition expert, Suzee, will take you on a foraging adventure and talk about how to make the most of what is available naturally. This will culminate in a bushcraft style, cauldron lunch, a seminar on shopping habits and how gut transformation equals mood transformation.

1pm - River therapy with Katherine
Paddle, plunge, swim or splash in the beautiful River Wenning with Katherine guiding you on how to get the best benefits from cold water therapy. The ancient Indian term is ishnan. This refers to how the capillaries open then close and send blood rushing back to your organs and glands.
This natural flushing process brings youthfulness to your body by stimulating renewed glandular activity. It boosts your mood and immune system and makes you playful and happy!

2pm - Reconnect with animals (horses and llama) with Katherine
Animals can help us to connect with nature and ultimately connect with our own true nature. Learn how to be still and present in nature and feel whole, complete and connected to everything. Spend some time with our resident meditation teachers, Duke, Yogi, Eddie and Atticus!

3pm - Outdoor yoga with Rebecca Ellis
The real benefits of yoga are much more powerful when it is done outdoors and as close to nature as possible. Taught by one of the area’s best yoga teachers, this soothing vinyasa flow can be enjoyed by beginners or advanced yogis alike.

4pm - Nature’s augery mindfulness workshop with Katherine
We all buzz around nature and often forget to be present and simply part of it. This workshop shows you how be still enough to amalgamate with the intelligence of your environment. Let it guide you to wisdom through intuition. Be amazed at what you have and what is available to you.
