Happy Mondays Bread making workshop
Mon 30 January 2017, 19:30 – 21:30 GMT
Have you ever wanted to make your own bread but don't know where to start? Has it been a while since you made your own bread and you want to refresh your skills?
There is nothing like the smell and taste of bread which you have made yourself, using the simplest of ingredients. Join us on this workshop where we will take you through the first steps of your bread making journey and will hopefully inspire you to have a go at home.
During the two hour session we will be covering all the essentials, including choice of ingredients, kneading, proving, shaping and baking. You will make a white dough which will be turned into a white tin loaf to bake at home afterwards, along with a delicious buttery brioche dough which will prove overnight ready for you to bake sometime the next day. Full instructions, along with a dough scraper and loaf tin will be provided so that you can have successful bakes with the dough you will make.
This event is part of Happy Mondays, a series of events offered by LU Arts in partnership with Loughborough Students' Union ranging from gigs to performance poetry nights to creative taster sessions. Whatever the event, Happy Mondays is guaranteed to get your week off to a great start!
