Haramacy x AWAN Festival
Event Information
About this Event
Our body image is formed by the social, emotional and imaginative significance given to our different body parts in social domains.
Many of the emotionally prominent characteristics attached to women’s bodily features socially are damaging and destructive.
We invite you to an open discussion led by Nouf Alhimiary (Artist and PhD candidate in Cutlure, Communication and Media) and Noor Palette (Senior Editor of AZEEMA magazine) to explore the healing potential of creatively rethinking social perceptions of our own embodiment, and the embodiment of others, as tools of feminist praxis.

Haramacy acts as a catalyst for cross-cultural engagement for artists from marginalised communities in London. Bringing together Middle Eastern, North African and South Asian artists through multi-arts collaboration, Haramacy creates a space for them to explore intersectional social systems (race, gender, class and ethnicity) within their communities and others.
We look forward to seeing you!
AWAN Festival is produced by Arts Canteen and supported by Arts Council England.
