Hardy Monument Circular

Join us for a scenic walk around the Hardy Monument! This circular route will take you through beautiful countryside and offer stunning views of the surrounding area. The event will start at the Hardy Monument National Trust Car Park, where you can meet fellow nature enthusiasts and enjoy a day of exploration. Don't forget to bring comfortable shoes, water, and a camera to capture the breathtaking landscapes along the way. See you there!

This walk is 11km with good fitness levels required. We pass over many different terrains so good walking shoes recommended.

This is weather dependant so could be cancelled if wind gusts are over 45mph. Heavy rain will also have an impact. Please bring your own water and/or snacks. as necessary.

With 50 guided and self-guided walks to choose from, as well as our exciting 50-Mile Challenge, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. We look forward to welcoming all ages and abilities to join us for a week of adventure and discovery.

Some featured walks include: In the Trail of Thomas Hardy, Iron Age Forts, In the footsteps of the Romans, the Big Dorset Picnic Walk and family scavenger hunt walks.

In addition to the walks, the Dorchester Walking Festival will collaborate with local accommodation, cafes, local producers and restaurants to ensure participants have a memorable foodie experience.
