Event description

Description

Across British birth cohorts, measures of mental health vary across the different studies and within the same study over time. We will present results on the measurement properties of mental health measures, before and after harmonising these so that they can be compared across time and study. These harmonised measures allowed us to investigate and compare the development of psychological distress over the life course in different generations, as well as test whether mental health is improving or declining in more recently born cohorts that are expected to live longer

The workshop will introduce participants to the measurement properties of mental health measures in British birth cohorts and on the harmonisation process that allows these to be compared across time and study.

It will be delivered by Prof George Ploubidis, Dr Praveetha Patalay, Dr Eoin McElroy & Dr Aase Villadsen (UCL Centre for Longitudinal Studies).
