"This is an absolutely phenomenal film ... let us give a big hand for all these artists and activists - for the work they've done, the work they are doing, the work they will do in the future." Angela Davis

"This was like a magical baton...it's going to be up to your generation to use your energy to magnetize the masses." Chuck D

"An Extraordinary Documentary" Christiane Amanpour | CNN

"What a beautiful and thoughtful presentation of Harry Belafonte's life and his contribution. We had no idea just how wide his influence, his support, his inspiration, his joy and his LOVE LOVE LOVE was." Chris Blackwell | Island Records

"Harry was that rare type of character that radiates greatness, and you hope that some of it rubs off on you. The man commands respect. You know he never took the easy path, though he could have." Bob Dylan

"In the film, Belafonte recalls Dr. King saying 'I fear that we are integrating into a burning house.' Belafonte responds, 'What will we become?' King answers, 'We’re just going to have to become firemen.' Indeed this riveting and inspirational film profiles the great heroism of Belafonte who ran into burning buildings to fight for civil rights throughout his life. But it is not a film about distant history, rather a reminder of the battles of the last few decades, and what it means to be someone who consistently shows up to fight against injustice.”

Kerry Kennedy

Following Harry, a film by Susanne Rostock (Sing Your Song), is an intimate documentary that chronicles the last twelve years of legendary Harry Belafonte’s life, highlighting the artist-activist's enduring commitment to social justice. Fueled by his tremendous sense of urgency to inspire the next generation of entertainers and activists to stand for justice, the film provides a window into both his public endeavors and private moments, capturing his journey from the aftermath of the death of Trayvon Martin, to his engagements in the protests in Ferguson, the Women’s March (which was created in his office), to the deeply and profound conversations in his home. The film ultimately amplifies Harry’s belief that “each generation must be responsible for itself. All I can do is leave behind the crumbs of my experience. I have a trail that you can follow, if you find value in it, pick it up and if you don’t, bring something better.”

Following Harry features Aja Monet, Angela Davis, Aloe Blacc, Carmen Perez, Chuck D, Gina Belafonte, Jamie Foxx, Jesse Williams, Matt Post, Phillip Agnew, Rod Starz, Rosario Dawson, Sean Pica, & Talib Kweli
