About this event
"Pushing the genre of ‘gypsy jazz’ in London forward into a modern sphere" Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club
Harry Diplock is at the forefront of Django Reinhardt-inspired jazz in the UK and a co-founder of the London Django Collective.
Harry has played all over Europe at sold out venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, Royal Albert Hall, Pizza Express Soho Jazz Club, Duc Des Lombards (Paris), Torino Jazz Club (Turin) and 606 Jazz Club. His music has also been regularly played on TSF Jazz Radio, BBC 3 and Jamie Cullum’s Radio show.
Rooted in the acoustic qualities of the Selmer guitar and heavily inspired by both the French and American Jazz scene, his trio has a sound that is distinctly original.
Harry is also an educator in the style and regularly hosts various workshops and courses at jazz festivals and has shared the stage with some of the best in the scene including Antoine Boyer, Nigel Price, Giacomo Smith, Joe Webb, Paulus Schafer, Olli Soikelli, Fanou Torracinta and Mathieu Chatelain.
