Event description

Description

Following the success of the rum festival at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard in 2017, The National Museum of the Royal Navy are bringing rum to the north for this brand new event.

Join us on Saturday 11 August around our authentically recreated quayside and aboard 19th century HMS Trincomalee, Europe’s oldest fighting ship still afloat. There will be lashings of rum tastings and talks around our authentically recreated quayside and aboard HMS Trincomalee! Plus, enjoy rum-related masterclasses and plenty of live entertainment to keep your spirits up (pun intended!)

HMS Trincomalee, which celebrated her bicentenary in 2017, is a perfect tribute to Hartlepool’s seafaring tradition and remains an important example of Nelson's powerful frigates.

Listen to our experts talk you through the history of the navy's signature beverage, tour the ship, and walk away with a commemorative tot glass. Plus, feel the breeze of the Caribbean in our secret Tiki room. If you can find it, you could be walking away with a free gift!

Alnwick Rum and Pusser’s Rum are already confirmed. With heaps of further brands set to be announced ahead of the festival, make sure you get your tickets fast!

18+ only. ID will be required for entry.

Please drink responsibly.
