Event description

Description

Join us at this joint meeting with London Met students and GlobalNet21 for our next discussion evening at London Met. This we will be doing in collaboration with the Great Debaters Club and we hope to involve student debaters and others. It will focus on the #MeToo issue that has divided people and even created division amongst feminists.

The motion will be,

“The #MeToo debate: This House Believes Internet justice is better than no justice at all.”

Has the #MeToo movement helped to stamp out abuse and become an instrument of much needed culture change or has it painted people and especially women as victims serving out rough justice and generated a new atmosphere of puritanism?

These are some of the issues that will be raised in what is a heated debate on culture change and policy formation in the digital age.

This will be one of our monthly informal discussions supported by the UK African Diaspora Forum and others to discuss some of the vital issues that face us all in the 21st Century.

Julliet Makhapila co-ordinates these events for us and facilitates the evening and is great at keeping the meetings focussed and making everyone feel comfortable and welcomed.

So come along and join us and also contact Julliet if you would like to help out and see if we can make these events a success.

More information on speakers will be posted soon
