Hastings Networking Group - February Meeting
Wednesday, 1 February 2017 from 18:30 to 20:30 (GMT)
Please note that this event will start with refreshments and an opportunity to network, with the formal part of the meeting starting half an hour after the given start time.
If you live and/or work in the East of Sussex then it may not always be very easy to attend mid-week evening events in Brighton or mid-Sussex so this year we have launched a networking group in Hastings. The aim is to provide an opportunity for making connections, sharing ideas and meeting up with fellow HR professionals in and around this area. Derek Osborn will co-ordinating this group.
The next meeting of the Hastings Network takes place on 1 February at Sussex Coast College. The network is still establishing itself, having met for the first time in late 2016, and at our next meeting we will be exploring how best we can develop the network. To do this one of our members will be leading us in using “talking circles” to generate ideas. A talking circle is a group process for developing direct, honest and open communication in a team or community, using the diversity of views and talents present. The theme the circle will explore will be “how can this network serve and challenge us as HR/L&D professionals?”. The talking circle will be preceded by a short input explaining how the process works and followed by some reflections on how participants might use the framework and tools in their own practice. In addition, colleagues from Sussex Coast College and Magnox, Dungeness will be sharing insights into their own organisations and what their HR challenges and opportunities are at the moment.
The meeting is being held in Room Number SP5.119 Board Room, please ask for HR upon arrival at the Reception Desk.
