Course Description: In this skills based workshop students will refer to the colour wheel to begin to create movement in their work using the technique of hatching. Working on pre-warped frames students will move hatching from the right of the tapestry to the left in gradual steps while being careful to retain the basic technique of hatching. By the end of the workshop you will have completed a small tapestry sample.
Please Note: Students should have an intermediate level of knowledge of hatching and blending, or have completed the Stage 1 & 2 Hatching to do this workshop.
You will work on pre-warped frames, (8cm wide, 3.5epc cotton warp). There will be a stock of wools available to students, all equipment will be available to borrow. If you would like to buy some equipment and wools this will be available to you at the end of the workshop.
This workshop is for four students only and will take place in Weftfaced's own tapestry studio at Mill Studio.
Adults 18 and over only please.
Refreshments of tea, coffee and biscuits will be available throughout the day, however please bring your own lunch, (please note there are no places locally where you can buy your lunch).
How to get to the Mill Studio. If you are travelling by train the nearest station is Ford, which is 7 minutes walk to the studio.
If you are traveling by car, you leave the A27 at Arundel into Ford Road (traveling south), after Ford railway station take the second right, the Mill Studio is signposted. (DON’T TURN INTO FORD LANE, take the second right into an access road.)
