This event is part of Hate Crime Awareness Week 2019

We are pleased to invite the Students, UCLan Staff, SU staff and commnity members to attend the following session:

Monday, 14th October – 10:00 – 11:00 - Room GR276 (Greenbank Building)

These sessions will be delivered by Denise Chapman (Valuing Difference and Inclusion Coordinator) from Lancashire Constabulary and Suely Ludgero-Newlove (Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Communities Officer) from UCLan.

Programme:

  • What is a hate crime including victim video
  • Some Lancashire statistics
  • UCLan Case studies
  • Victim impact
  • Reporting and why it is important
  • Q&A session.

Aims and objectives:

  • Recognise & identify the various forms of hate crimes/ incidents.
  • Describe the differences between hate crimes and hate incidents.
  • Identify the effects of hate crimes/ incidents, on individuals and communities.
  • How to report a Hate Crime/ Incident.
  • Understand what you can do to help.
