About this event
Essentially all posture (asana) based Yoga is Hatha Yoga. Previous to the seminal 15th century text, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Yogic texts tended to focus on lifestyle and meditation rather than Asana, Kriya, Bandhas and Mudras. Our Hatha Yoga classes follow the ancient traditions of Hatha Yoga with the focus of the class being to release tensions in the body and steady the breath to balance the mind . Movements with breathing, called Kriyas (actions), may be interspersed throughout a practice mainly focused on static asana. Breathing techniques are practiced at the end of the practice of postures so that the practitioner can enter a state of meditation more easily.

Before completing Yoga teacher training at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala and the Anand Prakash Ashram in Rishikesh Sara worked at leading London studios as a Personal Trainer which has provided her with a deep understanding of anatomy and rehabilitation of injuries. Her background in dance, gymnastics and martial arts, all contribute to her style of teaching. She continually aims refresh her knowledge and understanding of mind-body health in all its forms.
