As Lifelong Learning Dundee's contribution to Christmas in Dundee we invite you to :

'Haunted Holidays : A Gothic Christmas in the Victorian Era' with Lauren Christie

Tuesday 8th December 2020 , 6.30 - 7.30pm

Start your Christmas with a spooky look at Christmas in Victorian times and join us on an exploration of the gothic tropes woven through Victorian traditions over the festive period. Discover their unlikely and surprising fascination with death and ghosts, not just in our favourite Dickens novel A Christmas Carol but in Scottish and Celtic beliefs.

Speaker

Lauren Christie, is an author and researcher who lectures at the University of Dundee and with Lifelong Learning Dundee. She has a particular interest in childhood fears and traumas, gothic young adult fiction, monster studies and bibliotherapy.

Booking closes on Friday 4th December 2020 at 12 noon, or earlier, if the capacity of the Zoom Room has been filled. Book early to avoid disappointment.
