About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

We’re pleased to invite members to an online engagement session focused on the Wellbeing and Sustainable Development (Scotland) Bill introduced by Sarah Boyack MSP. This session offers a valuable opportunity for Community Learning and Development (CLD) practitioners to meet with Sarah and the parliamentary team behind the Bill for an open enquiry and conversation.

The proposed Bill seeks to introduce a new public duty, requiring all public bodies to give due regard to the promotion of wellbeing and sustainable development in the exercise of their functions. It also proposes the establishment of a Future Generations Commissioner for Scotland, whose role would be to champion the wellbeing of future generations by encouraging sustainable development across all public sector decisions, policies, and actions.

This Have Your Say session provides a unique space for practitioners to engage directly with the Bill team. Participants will gain insight into the key aims of the consultation and be supported to explore the consultation questions in depth.

Although informal in nature, the session is designed to:

  • Facilitate meaningful dialogue between CLD practitioners and the Bill development team
  • Provide a platform for practitioners to share their experiences and perspectives

Join us and help inform and shape well-informed consultation responses grounded in the realities of working with communities across Scotland. We look forward to your participation in what promises to be a thoughtful and impactful conversation.

In addition to shaping your individual responses, your contributions during this event will inform the official consultation submission to be made by the CLD Standards Council.

Professional Learning is a way for you as a professional CLD practitioner to show that you're keeping your CLD skills, knowledge and experience up to date, recording what you learn and reflecting on the impact it has on your practice. This online session may contribute to your annual CPD requirement.
