Event description
Come along to Sydney Gardens and learn the traditional craft of hurdle making using locally sourced hazel wood.

About this Event

You will learn a heritage skill and we will work together to create a low hurdle fence to frame a new flower bed in the garden.

No previous experience necessary. Booking essential.

This session is organised by Mali Kedward, the Horticultural Participation Officer for the Sydney Gardens Project.

This training event is part of Sydney Gardening - the gardening events and activities in Sydney Gardens Bath that are part of the National Lottery Heritage Funded Sydney Gardens Project to restore the park (2019-2021).

Accessibility:

The workshop will be taking place in a step free environment. There is an accessible toilet in the building. Contact the Event Organiser for further information if needed.

Age range:

This activity is aimed at adults. If you're under 18 and interested in attending, please contact us.

Toilets:

There are accessible public toilets in Sydney Gardens (20p).

Getting to the park:

You can walk to Sydney Gardens from the City Centre in around 15 minutes.

There are bus stops near the park:

Routes, 11, 64, 94, D1. Also the 734, D3 run near the park

Stops: Holburne Museum, Forester Road, Darlington Road

Parking:

Free parking is available around the edge of the park on Sydney Road (some bays are restricted to 2 hours, some are 4 hours between 8am to 6pm). They are often full, so leave plenty of time to find somewhere to park.
