MSc students at HCA - Dissertation Writing sessions
About this event
UPDATE: Unfortunately the session on 18 May is cancelled due to staff illness. The session for 25 May should still be running and the 18 May session will be rescheduled in due course.
The School of History, Classics and Archaeology are holding two one-hour sessions on Collaborate focusing on Structuring and Writing Your Dissertation. Some of the best research may fail to receive the recognition it deserves if the importance of good structure and language is neglected.
These sessions will focus on the practicalities of Masters Dissertation writing in HCA.
Areas to be covered include:
- Appropriate academic style
- Optimising sentence and paragraph structure for clear and persuasive communication
- Being concise
- Writing critically and analytically
These talks are made up of two separate sessions and you can register for both using the "Select A Date" link above. Session 1 will run on Wednesday 18 May and Session 2 Wednesday 25 May at 11AM-12PM. Registration is not essential for attendance but just helps us to track numbers.
The sessions will be led by ELE (English Language Education) practitioners.
The Collaborate guest link will be circulated to HCA MSc students in advance of the event via email and the Academic Language and Literacy Learn page.
