HCID Open Day 2017: ‘Bootstrap UX' - Day Ticket
Thu 27 April 2017, 12:30 – 18:00 BST
What is it?
The HCID Open Day is a free mini conference run by the Centre for Human Computer Interaction Design (HCID) at City, University of London. Each year we invite in guest speakers from industry and academia to talk about UX / HCI / Interaction Design and related fields.
This year’s theme is Bootstrap UX. Through it we hope to explore how people can achieve UX outcomes on a budget, without access to a big team or expensive kit. It can also relate to how teams have gone back to basics in order to complete a project. This theme also ties into the launch of our free UX consultancy services for start-ups and SMEs through StartUX!
This year’s event will be taking place on Thursday 27th April 2017. The day will start at 1pm with an opening keynote TBC. We will then have concurrent talks running until 6pm when everyone comes together for the 2 evening keynotes, followed by an after party at Blacksmith and Toffeemaker!
This year we have confirmed speakers from GDS, School of UX, Akendi, Foolproof and more! For more details on speakers and talks, please check out our website. The schedule will be released closer to the date of the Open Day.
Why should I go?
We had around 200+ people through the doors last year! The audience represents a variety of fields including UX, digital, design + creativity professionals with a smattering of academics and professional students. This year we are also hoping to attract members or London's vibrant start-up community.
The Open Day is a great opportuntiy to learn, network and meet people who may be recruiting or potential recruits. Previous keynotes have been from eBay, Google, Virgin, Microsoft, and Facebook. You can see last years HCID 2016 highlights video for a feel of the day.
