Is this event also open to band 2 HCA who would like to progress to a band 3 position?

Yes.

Is there a criteria for joining this study day?

Yes. You must have worked at least more than one year in the Trust as a Healthcare Support Worker or HCA. You must have completed and passed your Care Certificate.

Is this a study day? How many hours am I allocated for this?

Yes, the study day starts at 09.00 and finishes at 17.00 with a 1 hour lunch break from 12.00 - 13.00 . You are allocated 7 hours of study for this.

Who books my study day on my rota?

Your ward manager or Learning Link Nurse does. Before booking this workshop, please speak to your ward manager or Learning Link Nurse, and request this as a study day on your E-roster to make sure you are available on the date of the workshop and that you are allocated study hours.

What are the topics discussed in this study day?

We will discuss the iCare programme, Understanding the Band 2 and Band 3 Role, Qualities and Skills of a Buddy, The Buddy Role, Effective Communication, Giving Feedback, Career Talk and Progression
