India's large service industry accounts for more than half its GDP, followed by the industrial and agricultural sectors. Major industries include telecommunications, textiles, chemicals, food processing, steel, transportation equipment, cement, mining, petroleum, machinery, software and pharmaceuticals.

With a population of over 1.2 billion, of which 572 million are under the age of 24, India’s growing consumer economy with a young middle class present significant opportunities for UK businesses.
