You will be provided with clay, and a bust peg (with some of the prep work done) to get you on your way and cley tools you will need to work with. We will have model sitting who we be trying to create a likeness from. this is a taught course and though i hope it is something that you will enjoy, I will be trying to teach you how to approach the act of portait sculpture as well as some of the anatomical element that are important when trying to capture a likeness.
This course is for complete beginners who want to try something new, anyone who has worked in clay and wants to develop there figurative skills, good for working on hand eye skills and a similar exersise as life drawing but in 3D. It also helpful in understanding the design process when working on sculpture in stone or other materials.
This course will be run by Alex waddell who is a exprienced professional stone carver. He has work on cathedrals, castles and for projects across the UK. The teaching aids will be all of his own design.
