Overview

An eclectic mix of chaotic noise to round off those January blues

Head Noise

Birthed at an art exhibition and destined to die at the end of the universe, Head Noise are South Wales’ premier oddball electropunk trio—spitting out angsty garbage about junk culture, broken tech, and the absurdity of modern life.

With synths that snarl, guitars that twitch, and lyrics that read like a fever dream, they’re a dada-esque collision of Devo, Suicide, and your nan’s broken microwave.

Head Noise: like Kraftwerk on ketamine in a Poundland.

nineplanfailed

From the grey pulse of Swansea’s underbelly comes nineplanfailed—a three-piece alt-rock outfit that sounds like Joy Division got mugged by The Strokes (or something).

After a ten-year hiatus spent simmering in the shadows, they’re back with a vengeance. Frontman Dim’s emotive vocals and brooding basslines anchor the chaos, while G's schizophrenic guitar lashes out over Nathan’s tribal, thundering drums. Think early Cure meets Therapy? with hooks sharp enough to draw blood.

Their sound is post-punk revival with a conscience—angsty, urgent, and wired for dissent. If you’re not dancing, you’re probably rethinking your life choices.

Dropping Like Flies

Born in the shadows of lockdown and the ashes of Welsh punk legends 100,000 Bodybags, Dropping Like Flies are the bastard sons of resistance and riff. Founders Simon Cullen and Craig “Brewer” Bruzas wrote in secret—dodging Covid wardens and curtain-twitchers—to forge a new sound: raw, political, and darkly hilarious.

With first-time guitarist Brian Meade completing the trio, they hit the ground howling in 2021, tearing through gigs like they’d been caged for years (because they had). Their debut album Triggers is a Molotov cocktail of hard rock hooks, razor-sharp satire, and enough volume to make your Nan blush.

Play loud. Laugh harder. Or run.

"South Wales' premier all female punk band. If you disagree, you're a f****** nazi."
