This is event is for staff working in Primary Care in Nottingham & Nottinghamshire

“These non-promotional modules were developed by AbbVie for UK Health Care Professionals only.”

Aim of this Event

Migraines and chronic headaches are common presentations in primary care, yet they remain under-recognised and often misunderstood. Their impact on patients’ quality of life, productivity, and mental health is profound — as is the burden on healthcare systems. This two-part series, delivered by GPs with a Special Interest in Headache Management and other staff in the field, will equip primary care clinicians with the knowledge and practical strategies to improve headache care, optimise referrals, and enhance patient outcomes.

This module will examine the underlying mechanisms of migraine and its differential diagnoses. It will highlight evidence-based, practical approaches to diagnosis and management in the primary care setting, helping clinicians deliver more effective, patient-centred care.

Target Audience

Registered health care professionals, Consulting health professionals - GPs, ACPs, Pharmacists and Physician Associates.

Objectives

  • Discuss the current understanding of migraine pathophysiology and the mechanism of migraine chronification
  • Recognise differential diagnoses of migraine
  • Discuss potential best practice for addressing migraine diagnosis with a patient
