Event description

Description

Join us for an evening of books, booze, food and fabulous authors to celebrate our amazing debuts of 2018.

Launching our 2018 calendar of events, this must-not-miss event will feature four of our most hotly anticipated debut authors of next year, Guy Gunaratne, Phoebe Locke, Nick Clark Windo and Karen Hamilton. Our chair for this fantastic evening is BBC Radio 2 producer Joe Haddow, and with such an exciting line-up amid the lights of London’s iconic skyline this is a definite date for your new 2018 diary.

Guy Gunaratne’s In Our Mad and Furious City announces the arrival of a raw and provocative new urban voice in fiction. A vivid and deeply effecting account of city life, the novel follows three young men on a London council estate over 48 hours when suddenly everything is at stake.

Phoebe Locke is another stunning new voice, introducing her dark and chilling crime-thriller The Tall Man. Appealing to fans of Ruth Ware and Stephen King, it is an unforgettable blend of spine-tingling chills and paranormal suspense which will leave you checking the corners of your room at night.

How far would you go to get you what you want? Karen Hamilton unpicks this with her novel, The Perfect Girlfriend. Both terrifying and addictive, it is a frightening depiction of unbridled obsession, where love and pure hatred grapple on a knife edge...

Nick Clark Windo will be talking about his new dystopian page-turner The Feed. A tense thriller wrapped up in a scarily plausible nightmare, it is a thought provoking and utterly addictive read.

Tickets are £10 and include a welcome drink, nibbles and a goodie bag including an early preview book of one of our debut authors.

Please arrive from 6:30pm for a prompt 7pm start.
