Traumatic Brain Injury: "New Roads to recovery"

About this Event

Join Headway Leicester and a wealth of speakers as we discuss the pathways patients take after suffering a traumatic brain injury.

Speakers include:

Neurosugeon (Alexander Green)

Dr. Alex Green is a consultant neurosurgeon in Oxford and is currently vice-president (immediate past President) of the British Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (BSSFN). Over the past 9 years he has been looking at the neurocircuitry underlying autonomic function and pain in humans undergoing Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS).

Neuropsychologist (Tim Hull)

Dr. Tim Hull is currently a Consultant Neuropsychologist for the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust in Birmingham where he leads the clinical team in a residential rehabilitation facility for people with acquired brain injuries. This team takes a neurobehavioural approach to the whole of the rehabilitation process and the Trust is a leading provider of services to people who show challenging behaviour and present difficulties in their rehabilitation and require a psychologically led approach.

Neurological Vocational OT (Mary McCarron)

Mary has previously worked at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford; Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability, Putney and as a Highly Specialist Neuro Occupational Therapist working in Community Neuro Rehabilitation, for the Central London Community Health team.
