GUEST SPEAKERS

The Ven. John Scott MBE

Reconciliation, a Bridge to Healing workshop will be based on the two main principles of the Lord's Prayer: Give and Forgive. Jesus obviously saw forgiveness as a major criterion for a Christian life and I have witnessed that the personal need to practise forgiveness - not just saying sorry but the eradication of harbouring any thoughts or animosity towards someone as well. Not easy if a loved one has been murdered but equally difficult sometimes in family domestic situations and normal life situations.

The Rev. John was Archdeacon in the Diocese of Down and Dromore from 2005 to 2011. He retired in 2011 after, over 40 years of parish ministry including “22 really happy years,” as rector of Seapatrick, Banbridge.
Throughout his ministry, John’s number one passion has been the Ministry of Healing and a desire to care for people. He is still Chair of the Churches’ Council of Health and Healing in Northern Ireland and all Ireland and all Ireland Associate Director of the Order of St. Luke for Ireland. “My ministry has always been based on people, either in the parish or in the community – just being there for people,” he said.

The Rev. Brian Reardon

Rural Ministry and Healing to Small Groups workshop will relate the healing ministry of a Hospital Chaplain and how peace and faith can happen in end of life confinement. It relates to families who gather around the bed with prayers and anointing.

Brian from Builth Wells is the minister of seven mid Powys churches. He is Associate Director of the Order of St. Luke (UK) for all Wales.
He was also installed as the moderator of the Association in the East at Sandfields Church, in Port Talbot, on 3 April 2019. His role includes moderating all of the English speaking churches in the whole of Wales.
He has become the new moderator of the Mid Wales and Border Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Wales. He took up the position from the outgoing moderator, Geoffery Brookes, on Thursday, 7 March 2019.

The Rev. Chris Low

Using Blessings and Prayer cloths in the Healing Ministry workshop will explore the Biblical basis and practical expression of these two forms of healing ministry. It will include opportunity to prepare Prayer Cloths and practise using Blessings. Handouts will be provided.

Chris is the Associate Minister of St John's Owlerton and St James in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. She was the past Warden of the Order of St. Luke in the UK and still serves as a trustee on the Council.
The Healing ministry has been at the forefront of all she does, underpinned by a desire for people to know and experience God's love and receive his healing.
She trains and oversees the healing and ministry teams both at St John's in the UK and in St James, New Zealand, and continues to train and equip parishes for the healing ministry as well as travelling to speak at meetings and conferences. She also ministers once a week with Healing Rooms at Hillsborough.
