About this event

Many of us have internalised messages, spoken and unspoken, that have shaped how we relate to our own sexuality and view the sexuality of others. Over time, parts of our sexual self become buried, shamed, or silenced. This can be a hidden or denied sexual self.

Uncovering and healing the denied sexual self is not about becoming “more sexual” for someone else it’s about coming home to your full aliveness, on your terms. This online workshop will create a safe space to begin unearthing and reconnecting with those denied parts.

This workshop is hosted by sex-positive international matchmaker and relationship psychotherapist, Sarah Louise Ryan, owner of Tailor Matched Personal Matchmaking.

Sarah Louise Ryan is a trusted intimacy, dating and relationship expert, relationship therapist and internationally recognised dating specialist with over a decade of experience helping people connect more deeply with others and themselves. Sarah’s work is rooted in destigmatising sexual expression and supporting people to speak their needs clearly, in both dating and inner relational dynamics, deepening romantic experiences. She centres her work on reclaiming self-worth, owning authentic desire, and ascending emotional empowerment, making her a safe and insightful guide for inner sexual healing. Her workshop containers are warm, heart-centred and informative.

She blends evidence-based tools with warm, trauma-informed guidance to support individuals in reclaiming their voice, desires, and relational authenticity. Known for her compassionate approach and deep integrity, Sarah creates safe, shame-free spaces where participants can gently explore and heal their denied sexual self.

You can expect, inner child work, a therapeutic approach, sex and relational psychoeducation and deep connection to your wants needs and desires. In this workshop you’ll be guided through gentle, transformative exercises to begin healing your relationship with your own desire, sensuality, and self-expression.

Many individuals carry a denied sexual self - parts of their desires, wants, and needs that have been repressed, shamed, or ignored. Influenced by childhood messages, societal judgment, shame, trauma, or patterns of conflict, these denials leave us disconnected from our own bodies, desires, and relational intimacy.

We deny our sexual wants and desires for many interconnected psychological, cultural, relational, and even neurological reasons. At the heart of it, denial is often a form of self-protection.

Drawing from her 14 years of training and experience in the dating, relating and therapy space, Sarah will present this workshop which will offer a safe space to:

Uncover the messages you received about sex growing up.

Reconnect with your body, sexual energy, and sensual self.

Get clear on how to communicate your wants and needs to yourself, not just others

Learn tools to reclaim pleasure, intimacy, and authenticity.

Research shows that the type of couples relationship therapy Sarah offers can significantly enhance sexual self-efficacy and emotional expression, especially after relational rupture. Trauma-informed, somatic approaches have also helped many survivors of shame or abuse reconnect with sensuality and self-compassion.

A safe and non-judgmental environment guided by a trained facilitator.

Awareness and healing of your denied or disowned sexual self.

Reconnection with your body through somatic and sensory exercises.

Tools to build trust, vulnerability, and intimacy with yourself and others.
