Event description

Description

Developing and maintaining a close relationship with nature brings balance and harmony within, and is a vital component of how we live our lives, and treat the earth.

Throughout history, humans have lived close to nature, understanding her ways, not only for survival, but for spiritual fulfilment. For so many, modern day increasingly hectic lifestyles, have led to a coming away from this. Stress related illnesses have become more common, and many people feel there is something vital missing from their lives.

Time in nature is proven to have many health benefits, to reduce stress levels, bring calm and relaxation, and an increase in energy levels.

Day schedule

In this day event, spent in a healing woodland environment, we will be learning through direct experience, ways to live a more harmonious existence with the natural world.

Learn about woodland ecology, and work with trees and plants as medicinal healers, and how they heal on an emotional and energetic level. Gain a better understanding of the energy systems in our own bodies, and how to connect with nature's energies for healing.

The day will begin by looking at where we are as a species right now, and the importance of forming and maintaining a deep relationship with nature. We will be learning techniques to connect with the earth including meditation and energy work.

After a break for lunch we will be taking a walk through the woods to look at the life systems around us, and the important role that trees play, how they live, grow and communicate.

We will then be looking at how trees have been seen as healers throughout time by different cultures worldwide, and the role they can now play in our lives. A specific focus will then be given to working with two of our most well known trees, the Oak and the Beech, learning medicinal properties, folklore, and how to work with them for healing.

Important information.

We will meet at the rangers office, the white building on the right as you drive or walk through the park. There are facilities on site but it is recommended you bring something to eat, as there will be a break for lunch. You may also wish to bring a hot drink in a flask. Please dress appropriately for the weather. We will be spending the whole day outdoors.
