Please join us for a workshop on ageing without children
1.2 million people over 65 have no children while many more have little or no contact with the children they do have. In an era of austerity with more pressure than ever on social care and calls for family to do more, what does the growing numbers of older people without family able or willing to provide support mean for policy, planning and services for older people.
Ageing Without Children (AWOC) is working with PRAMA Foundation to pilot the first project in the world looking at creating AWOC friendly services, organisations and communities.
This workshop will look at:
- The extent and nature of the issues facing people ageing without children
- The reasons why more people are arriving at later life without children
- Consider solutions to some of the problems raised and who people ageing without children can support each other
The workshop will be led by Kirsty Woodward, Founder of AWOC. More information about AWOC can be found here: www.awoc.org
