About this event

Resilience – ‘The Sticking Point’

- Identify thoughts and behaviours that hinder your resilience

- Develop strategies for boosting your resilience

‘The Sticking Point’ Steve Thomson (Director at Unlimited Potential) paints a vivid picture of a world where emotional and intellectual pain is a visible and tangible thing that can be dealt with or disposed of in a variety of different ways. From that fictional world comes a practical and real-world workshop designed to build up and develop resilience in individuals.

This workshop will cover:

• Delegates are given free rein to explore how best to deal with the negative impact of various, real world scenarios.

• Scenarios are carefully selected to reflect the typical challenges faced by those attending.

• Delegates are given the techniques to recognise aspects of their daily life that may be adding to their stress or anxiety without them even realising it.

At the heart of resilience lies an understanding that trying to battle difficulties head to head is often the worst thing you can do. This workshop explains that thinking and leads attendees through the process of developing other ways of coping and overcoming the kind of tribulations that can undermine productivity, health and wellbeing.

Reset, Reflect and Restart- Health and Wellbeing Webinars

The mental health and wellbeing of our staff is important to us. Growing research demonstrates the importance of mental health and wellbeing in relation to satisfaction and effectiveness at work. Stress, depression, and anxiety are reported as the most common reasons for staff absence. Poor mental health is associated with an increased risk of diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, and diabetes, while good mental health is a known protective factor. Poor physical health also increases the risk of people developing mental health problems.

After 19 months of sustained, high performance work under unusual pressures, many NHS leaders and teams are feeling overwhelmed, even exhausted. The slip from manageable levels of stress to something more damaging can be so gradual it can easily get missed.

Each webinar is designed to address a different aspect of well-being to help you ‘Reset, Reflect and Restart’ after an extremely challenging 18 months. Recovery is very important, but this programme goes beyond simply ‘finding your feet again’. Inevitably, there will be experiences to share, lessons to learn and long-term changes to be implemented in the coming months and years. The aim is to support your recovery whilst also facilitating the process of moving forwards. Further still, these webinars will look at ways to guide and lead your teams and colleagues through the same process.
